Wednesday, July 7, 2004, El Cerrito, CA -- Lee Fesperman, CEO, announced that the parent company, FFE Software, Inc., was reabsorbing FirstSQL, Inc. as part of a re-organization initiative. FirstSQL, Inc., a marketing subsidiary, was launched by FFE Software in 2002, to market the FirstSQL/J, 100% Java, database products.

Fesperman stated that the move was part of a general re-organization to focus the company on its flagship products -- FirstSQL/J Enterprise Edition and Professional Edition. He emphasized FFE's continuing commitment to the Java database market.

FFE Software, Inc. has been developing and marketing database products for over 15 years. In 1989, they released their first relational DBMS -- FirstSQL RDBMS. Over the years, FFE has been very active in the database industry. They were early adopters of ODBC and participated in the definition of ODBC 3.0.
